Up Coming Projects

Holistic Health LMT announces its eighth research study on Complex NeuroConnective Tissue Disorders with a focus on Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Chiari Malformation, exploring Integrative Touch therapies for Neuro-Connective Health.

This groundbreaking project builds on 11 years and seven prior studies, examining adaptive manual techniques to improve connective tissue function, reduce neurological symptoms, and enhance overall wellness.

Stay tuned for findings that advance evidence-based manual care for complex NeuroConnective Tissue disorders.

Holistic Health LMT's Integrative Touch research project targets key goals in advancing care for Complex NeurConnective Tissue Disorders Including but not limited to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Chiari Malformation, Sjorgren's and Multiple-Sclerosis. It also addresses the complexity of comorbidities and the effect they have on adaptations to manual therapies

Primary Objectives

  • Enhance Tissue Function: Develop and test adaptive manual therapy techniques to improve connective tissue stability, neural pathway support, and post-surgical modifications like posterior fossa decompression.

  • Reduce Symptoms: Measure reductions in chronic pain, hypermobility risks, neurological issues (e.g., headaches, brain fog), and autonomic dysfunction through standardized protocols.

  • Support Documentation: Integrate HIPAA-compliant tracking of metrics like heart rate, blood pressure, pain scales, and body measurements for evidence-based outcomes in your Vitalis Wellness EHR (in Development).

Study Impact

As the 8th study, it builds on prior work to create clinical guidelines for integrative wellness, emphasizing safety and efficacy for multidisciplinary practices.

What are Neuro-Connective Tissue Disorders and Why This Study Matters:

Neuroconnective tissue disorders are conditions where the body’s connective tissues, nerves, and regulation systems are unusually fragile or reactive, so joints, nerves, and organs don’t get the stable support they need.

This group includes Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), where collagen is built differently so joints can be overly flexible and prone to sprains, subluxations, and chronic pain;

Chiari Malformation, where part of the brain sits too low and can disrupt the normal flow of spinal fluid, causing headaches, dizziness, and neurologic symptoms;

Multiple Sclerosis (MS), where the immune system attacks the protective coating around nerves in the brain and spinal cord, affecting movement, balance, vision, and energy;

Sjögren’s Syndrome, an autoimmune condition best known for dry eyes and dry mouth but which can also affect joints, nerves, and organs; and

Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD), where joints move beyond the usual range and can feel unstable, achy, or easily injured even without a formal EDS diagnosis.

These conditions often travel with “comorbidities” such as POTS and other forms of dysautonomia (problems regulating heart rate, blood pressure, and circulation), mast cell activation issues (MCAS, with hives, flushing, and sensitivity to foods or chemicals), chronic fatigue or pain syndromes, gut dysmotility, and sleep or anxiety disorders, which is why so many people feel like “everything is connected” but rarely explained in one place.

This research and our adaptive hands-on techniques are important because traditional stretching, deep pressure, or “no pain, no gain” exercise can easily overwhelm bodies that are already working overtime just to stay upright, breathe, and move through the day. By focusing on mid-range joint control, gentle dynamic movement, nervous system calming, and pain‑smart pacing,

Integrative Touch approaches are designed to improve stability, body awareness, and comfort without triggering flares—offering safer options for people who have often been dismissed or hurt by one‑size‑fits‑all care. The same principles that protect neuroconnective clients—respecting limits, building strength around joints instead of forcing flexibility, supporting circulation, and soothing an overworked nervous system—also benefit the general population by reducing injury risk, improving posture and balance, and creating sustainable, body‑honoring wellness instead of short-term fixes.

Integrative Touch & Neuroconnective Health  is a clinically focused textbook on safely working with complex neuroconnective tissue disorders through adaptive massage and assisted movement. It synthesizes your research, case studies, and protocols for conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Chiari malformation, Multiple Sclerosis, Sjögren’s, and hypermobility spectrum disorders, emphasizing joint stability, proprioceptive training, and nervous-system‑safe care rather than generic protocols.Benefits for Hypermobility/EDS PatientsIntegrative Touch & Neuroconnective Health offers adaptive massage and assisted dynamic stretches that prioritize joint stability over flexibility, reducing subluxation risk and improving proprioception for safer daily function. Patients gain better neuromuscular control, decreased chronic pain through fascial decompression, enhanced gait stability, and flare prevention via boom-and-bust avoidance strategies.AuthorWritten by Courtney Bargar, LMT, Licensed Massage Therapist at Holistic Health LMT (Powell, Ohio), specializing in complex neuroconnective tissue disorders through clinical research and case studies

At Holistic Health LMT, our passion has always been whole-person healing—helping clients restore balance, relieve pain, and reconnect with their bodies through compassionate, skilled touch. Now, we’re taking that same heart-centered philosophy and transforming it into the digital future of care with the development of Vitalis Wellness EHR — a comprehensive, HIPAA-compliant platform built by wellness professionals, for wellness professionals.

Vitalis Wellness EHR will bridge the gap between holistic and medical care, empowering practitioners to document, track, and communicate with greater clarity—without sacrificing the soul of their practice. This system will support integrative care for clients with complex conditions, streamline documentation, and protect sensitive client data in a way that honors the practitioner–client relationship.

To bring this visionary platform to life, we are seeking $150,000 in development funding. You can make a meaningful impact in two powerful ways:

  • Book your next massage or purchase an Annual Wellness Package—10% of all proceeds go directly toward Vitalis Wellness EHR’s development.

  • Make a direct donation to help fund the next stage of innovation in integrative health.

Every session you receive and every dollar you contribute helps build a system that will enhance care for thousands of clients and practitioners globally. Together, we’re not just creating software—we’re creating a future where healing, data, and humanity coexist in harmony.
